A Crook in River City
Travelling con man, Harold Hill arrives in River City, Iowa where he concocts a plan to swindle as much money as possible out of the town’s residents. When it appears that there’s a lot of resistance to the recently opened billiard hall, he convinces the townsfolk to form a band and purchase instruments and uniforms from him. According to Harold, the band is the perfect counter-move against the billiard hall, and he is the perfect person to lead it. In reality, he has absolutely no knowledge of music and is only interested in their money. Until he sets eyes on local librarian Marian, and his plans take an unexpected turn. You will hear many classics making their return to the stage, such as “Iowa Stubborn”, “Goodnight My Someone”, “76 Trombones”, “Marian the Librarian” and “‘Till There Was You.”
