During the Donut Tour in New York, you’ll try some of New York’s most delicious donuts. This unique food tour will take you to four authentic donut shops in Manhattan, where you’ll get the chance to sample a variety of tasty and unique donuts. You are probably already familiar with this typical American treat from supermarkets or cafes, but there’s a high chance that you won’t settle for anything less after trying the donuts on this tour. You will discover what a real donut is supposed to taste like! Together with a guide, you’ll walk from one shop to another and at the same time explore a nice part of Manhattan.
New York Donut Shops
You’ll meet your guide at 200 Fifth Avenue, in front of the Golden Clock. From here, you’ll head towards your first donut at Doughnut Plant. This shop has cushions on the walls in the shape of all the donuts they sell. The donut you try here will pleasantly surprise you; it was one of the tastiest I have ever had! As you make your way to the next shops on this tour, the guide will tell you about the history and architecture of New York. You’ll pass through Chelsea, walk along Fifth Avenue and into Greenwich Village. This area of Manhattan is full of character and old school New York charm. You won’t find tall skyscrapers or hordes of tourists here. Along the way you can already start looking forward to the tasty treats that are still to come!
The Best Donuts in New York
There are two other donut shops to visit before the tour ends at the Doughnut Project in the West Village. At each location you receive a sample of the shops’ best donut(s). You’ll see and taste each shop’s own style, both in terms of the dough and the special kinds of glaze. For example, I tried a croissant donut, a salted caramel chocolate donut and an ‘everything donut’ (inspired by the everything bagel) with seeds.
After booking your tour you’ll receive a voucher that you can either print out or show on your mobile phone as your ticket.
