Manhattan to Newark Airport transfer
A Manhattan to Newark Airport transfer by taxi can cost up to US$120. Therefore, I advise you not to take a taxi to Newark Airport (EWR) and instead, go by shuttle bus or private car. Booking your airport transfer beforehand allows you to enjoy your last day in New York stress-free.

Large Shuttle Bus
If you are staying in Midtown Manhattan, Coach USA’s large shuttle bus can be a good transfer option for you. You can board at several places; at Port Authority Bus Terminal, Bryant Park and Grand Central Station. You will have a good connection to Newark Airport from here. There is plenty of space for luggage in the luggage compartment of the bus.
When leaving Manhattan, keep in mind that bus times are only estimates. So depart early to ensure a stress-free travel. Personally, I think the pick-up location near Port Authority is the easiest to find. From 8th Avenue, walk up 41st Street towards 9th Avenue. You will see a Coach USA sign or people waiting.

The shared small shuttle buses will pick you up from your hotel or apartment and bring you to Newark Airport. Please note that most buses only pick up customers from up to 125th Street. It’ll take you at least 1.5 hours to travel to Newark Airport. The shuttle buses take longer than a taxi as they need to pick up more people. After booking, read your voucher carefully for instructions on how to be picked up at the location and time of your choice.

NJ Transit Train
The New Jersey Transit trains connect Penn Station in Manhattan to Newark Airport. To get to your terminal you will need to transfer on to the AirTrain. Together the train journey to Newark and the AirTrain cost US$16. Tickets just for the AirTrain cost $8.50. This is my least favourite way of travelling from Manhattan to Newark Airport because you have to transfer from one train to another, which is not great if you have a lot of baggage with you.
