The ferry then will take you first to the Statue of Liberty where the guide will tell you all about the history, the construction and restoration of one of the most famous monuments in the world.
Liberty Island Tour
Before getting up close to Lady Liberty, you’ll have a chance to quickly visit the Statue of Liberty Museum where you can see the statue’s original torch. The knowledgeable guide will provide you with all the interesting facts, and you can ask questions too if you’re eager to find out more.
There will, of course, be opportunities to take photos and pose with the Statue! You will also have a break to explore, shop for souvenirs, or grab a bite.
Visiting Ellis Island
The next and final stop of the guided tour is Ellis Island, which was once the entry point of many US immigrants. It is estimated that the descendants of the 12 million people processed at Ellis Island make up around 50% of the American population today.
After the tour, you can visit the Immigration Museum on Ellis Island at your own pace. Inside the former immigration centre, you can experience the island through the newcomers’ eyes and maybe even trace some of your own family members!
