Sail the waters of New York on the Statue of Liberty Tall Ship Sailing Cruise! The Clipper City is a spectacular 47 meter tall ship, with masts reaching an impressive height of 36 meters. Taking a water cruise will certainly never be the same again. The cruises depart from Pier 35, on the Lower East Side.
The Clipper City
The Clipper City was built in the 1980s. A steel replica of the famous Clipper lumber hauling schooners used in the 1800s. Built using plans purchased from the Smithsonian Institution (the world’s largest museum/research complex), the ship has been updated, keeping its new function in mind: to cruise the New York waters. During the boat trip you can walk around to see the various sights or take a seat at the many seating options. Onboard you’ll find a full-service bar where you can get local beers, cocktails, or other beverages and small snacks. Taking a tall ship cruise is an experience in itself. Leave behind the hustle and bustle of busy Manhattan for some serious relaxation.
Views of Brooklyn Bridge, Ellis Island and Lady Liberty
Get up close and personal with the Brooklyn Bridge, as well as Ellis Island and Lady Liberty herself. Enjoy the view with a drink in hand. There are seven cruises available: the Statue of Liberty Sail, the Twilight Sail, the Harbour Lights Sail, the Burlesque Sail, the Craft Beer Sail, the Lobster & Beer Lovers Sail and the Harbour Evening Sail with Live Jazz. Each provides a peaceful 2-hour cruise across the New York Harbour. Sailing on the Clipper City during the day is also fun for children. When the sun has set it becomes more of a romantic experience, perfect to share with that special someone. Whether you want to snap photos, just unwind or be amazed by the bright lights of Manhattan after dark, taking a Statue of Liberty Tall Ship Sailing Cruise is absolutely worthwhile.
