The USA World Cup 2026 games taking place in host city New York will be played in East Rutherford, New Jersey. They will be hosted by New York New Jersey Stadium, also known as the MetLife Stadium. With a capacity of 82,500 people, this stadium will also be the stage for the USA World Cup 2026 final on Sunday 19 July 2026.

How to get to New York New Jersey Stadium

The New York New Jersey stadium is easily accessible by public transport from Manhattan.

In my opinion, these are the best options:

  1. Take the train from Penn Station.
This station is located on 34th Street, which is in the middle of Manhattan. You can buy a ticket to Meadowlands Sports Complex and take the NJ Transit Rail to Secaucus, where you can transfer to the train that takes you to the stadium. Just follow the crowd!
  2. Take the Coach USA Express bus from Port Authority, which can be found on 42nd Street. This bus will take you directly to the stadium.
  3. Take a taxi, such as Revel. Download the Revel app here (link only works on mobile). When you have downloaded the app, use the promo code ERICL4759 to get a 70% discount. With three people, this can be cheaper than taking public transport. I recommend doing this only on the outward journey and going back by public transport because of the crowds.
Eric’s Tip: “Leave for the stadium at least three hours before the start of the match. That way you are sure to be on time! You can  take in the special atmosphere around the stadium to fully get  into the mood before the game.”
