Opening hours in New York tend to vary depending on the type of shop or business. Almost all the delis (the shops on the street corners selling food, drinks and household items) are open 24/7.

Banks’ hours run Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. They are also often open on Saturdays. On Sundays, the banks are all closed.

Post Offices, Museums and Stores in New York

Post Offices are open from Monday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. On Sundays, they are closed.

When visiting museums, check if they are open before you go. Clothing shops often open from 10:00 a.m. and close around 10:00 p.m. in the evening.

Almost all of the stores in Manhattan are also open on Sundays, starting an hour later than usual.
